The Victorian boxwood tape measure featured in this print is still in perfect working order and belonged to my Great, Great, Great Grandmother (I think I have that right). It sits on a shelf in my studio along with the vintage wooden cotton reels and I like to think of the connection between us, spanning the generations as I sit sewing.
